No upload means nothing to trust
With iLovePDF, every job starts with an upload. Your file goes to their servers, is processed there, and waits for you to download it. iLovePDF says it keeps files for up to two hours and does not check, copy or analyze them.
Maybe so. But you cannot see inside anyone else's servers, and you cannot check what happens to your file there. A service that receives your documents could keep them, read them, or use them to train software, and you would not know. Uploading always means trusting the company's promise, and trusting that the promise does not change later.
Easy File Tools removes the question. The tools run inside your browser, and your own device does the processing. Your PDF is never sent to us, so we cannot see it, store it, or pass it on. There is simply nothing on our side to trust.
You do not have to take our word for it. Open a tool, then turn off Wi-Fi or unplug the network cable. The tool still works, because nothing needs to go anywhere. If you are technical, open your browser's developer tools and watch the network tab while a file is processed: the file is not sent.
No size limits and no premium-only tools
iLovePDF's free plan limits each tool. Files over a set size are refused, the number of files you can add to one task is capped, and features like OCR are for Premium users only. You notice these limits at the worst moment, usually with a large scan and a deadline.
We do not have a free plan and a paid plan. There is only one version, and it has everything. There is no file size limit from us, no cap on files per task, and OCR is free. Your device does the work, so its memory is the only limit. Most laptops handle large scans and long reports without trouble.
No account, ever
You can use basic iLovePDF tools without an account, but Premium and larger jobs need one. Here, nothing needs an account. Open a tool, add your file, and download the result. We do not ask for your name or email address.

Because your own device does the work, we do not pay for servers that process other people's files. Serving the web page costs very little, so we can keep every tool free, with no paid plan and no trial.
There is no watermark on your files, and no tool waits behind an upgrade button.
It keeps working when the connection drops
iLovePDF needs a connection for every upload and download on the web, and offline use needs its desktop app. Our tools run in the browser, so after a page has opened, you can lose your connection and still finish the job.
A few tools download extra data the first time you use them, such as the language data for OCR. Open those once while you are online.
