About Page numbers

Page Numbers PDF stamps a number onto the pages you choose and leaves the document content underneath as it was.

Runs entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device.

1.Start from the finished PDF, after the merging, splitting, and reordering is done.
2.Set the first number, the page range, where the number sits, its size, and the margin.
3.Export, then look at the pages at each end of the range for numbers landing on top of something.

Set where the count starts and which pages get a number, so a cover can stay blank.
Position and margin put the number in a corner or centered along an edge.

This prints a number on the page. It does not change the page labels a viewer shows in its sidebar.
A tight margin can collide with a header, a footer, crop marks, or the edge a printer cannot reach.
Fixed-width digits and one count running across several files are Bates numbering, not this.

Can I leave the cover unnumbered?

Yes. Start the range at page 2 and set the first printed number to 1.

When should I add page numbers?

Last. Add or remove a page afterwards and the printed numbers stop matching the document.
