How to use it

1.Pick the PDF and note what it weighs now, so you have something to compare against.
2.Choose a size target, or set the compression level by how the file will be read.
3.Download it and zoom into photos, small text, and diagrams before you replace the original.

Options

Targets are 2 MB, 5 MB, 10 MB, or a number you type.
A higher compression level buys a smaller file with softer images and a longer wait.

Limitations

A size target is what the tool aims for, not a promise. Some PDFs cannot get there.
Text-heavy PDFs barely move, and hard settings show on scans first.

Common questions

Why did my PDF barely get smaller?

It was probably already efficient: compressed images, compact object streams, or mostly text and vectors. There is little left to squeeze out.

Does compression change the page size?

No. Pages keep their dimensions. What changes is how the images inside them are stored.
