Protect PDF

How to use it

1. 1.Pick the PDF, and if it is already encrypted, enter its current password.
2. 2.Set an open password if you want one, then go through the permissions one at a time rather than taking a preset.
3. 3.Download it, open it in the viewer people will actually use, and test both the password and what it allows.

Options

• The open password decides who gets into the document at all.
• Separate flags cover printing, copying, editing, annotations, forms, accessibility, and assembly.

Limitations

• Permission flags are honored by the reader, not enforced by the file. They will not keep anything from someone determined.
• We cannot recover a lost open password. Keep the unprotected original somewhere safe.
