Unlock PDF

Rebuild openable PDFs to remove editable restrictions where supported.

About Unlock PDF

Unlock PDF removes a document's encryption or access restrictions once you supply the credentials for it.

Runs entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device.

1.Make sure the document is yours, or that you have permission to take its protection off.
2.Pick the encrypted file and enter its current password.
3.Export the unlocked copy, check that it opens, and store or delete it carefully once the job is done.

This does not recover an unknown password, and it is not a way around access controls.
Certificate-encrypted, DRM-protected, damaged, and nonstandard PDFs will not open this way.

Can it find a password I forgot?

No. You have to supply the password. This is not a cracking service.

Is an unlocked PDF safe to email?

It has lost whatever protection you removed. Send it securely, or protect it again once you are done editing.
