Image converter

How to use it

1. 1.Pick one image or many at once, and check the previews have the orientation and colors you expect.
2. 2.Choose the output format, and for JPG, WebP or JPEG XL a quality that suits where it is going. The setting applies to every image in the list.
3. 3.Convert them all, compare each new size against the original, then download them one by one or together as a ZIP.

Options

• JPG for compact photos, PNG for transparency and exact pixels, WebP for smaller files on the web.
• JPEG XL for photos that need to stay sharp at a small size, or for lossless copies that are smaller than PNG. Chrome 155 and later, Safari 17 and later, and some other apps can open it.
• Quality settings on the lossy formats trade detail for size. They cannot add resolution that was never there.
• Several images convert at the same time in the background, so a batch of photos finishes much sooner than one after another.

Limitations

• The converter exports the main still image. Edit history, depth data, and some metadata do not come along.
• Very large images need room to decode and re-encode, which can be too much for a phone.
• An animated GIF comes out as its first frame. Use the animated image creator to keep the motion.
