About Crop image

Crop Image selects a rectangular region freeform or at a fixed ratio such as square, 4:3, 16:9, or vertical, and exports it either at the selection's own resolution or at an exact size such as an Instagram square, a YouTube thumbnail, A4, or US Letter.

How to use it

1.Open the largest version you have and pick a ratio preset or Freeform.
2.Move and size the box until the subject and the context you need sit inside it.
3.Apply it, check the pixel dimensions you got, and download while keeping the uncropped original.

Options

Ratio presets lock the shape for square, landscape, widescreen, portrait, and tall-screen placements.
Freeform lets you drag any rectangle when nothing at the other end cares about the shape.
An export size writes those exact pixel dimensions and locks the selection to match.

Limitations

Cropping only throws pixels away. A small selection stays small unless you export at a set size.
There is no separate resize step here for typing an exact width and height.

What size will the cropped image be?

The same pixels you selected out of the original, unless you choose an export size, which writes those dimensions instead.

Which aspect ratio should I pick?

Whatever the destination wants: 1:1 for square posts, 16:9 for widescreen, 9:16 for phone screens, Freeform when it does not matter.
