Extract Images PDF saves the pictures embedded in a document without rendering whole pages, so you get the photos and scans on their own.

1.Pick the PDF and work out which pages hold the photos or artwork you want.
2.Run the extraction and look at each image's size, format, source page, and content.
3.Download the ones worth keeping, drop the masks and duplicates, and check orientation and color.

Pulling the embedded object out keeps the original image data, which a page screenshot cannot.
The page and dimensions of each image tell a photo from an icon, a mask, or a scrap of interface.

Vector art, text, and clipped compositions are drawn onto the page rather than stored as an image, so there is nothing to pull out.
One picture can be several objects, or come with a separate mask that has to be put back together.

Why did one page give me dozens of tiny images?

PDFs store icons, masks, repeated assets, and image tiles as separate objects. Sort by dimensions and look at where each one sits.

Why was the chart not extracted?

It is vector paths and text drawn straight onto the page. Render the page region instead.
