PDF Screenshot captures a region of a page, lets you annotate it, and exports PNG, JPEG, or a vector PDF, for when you want to quote a fragment instead of a whole page.

How to use it

1.Open the PDF, go to the page, and zoom in until the detail is easy to select.
2.Drag the capture region, then add only the annotations needed to make the point.
3.Pick PNG, JPEG, or PDF depending on where it is going, and check the export at full size.

Options

PNG keeps text and interface edges crisp. JPEG comes out smaller on photographic areas.
Vector PDF keeps supported lines and text sharp. The image formats give you pixels.

Limitations

PNG and JPEG exports are pictures, so the text in them is no longer selectable.
How sharp the export looks depends on the zoom level and how large a region you grabbed.

Common questions

PNG or JPEG for a PDF screenshot?

PNG for charts, text, and anything with hard edges. JPEG for photos, when a smaller file matters more than exact detail.

When is the vector PDF export worth it?

When the crop is going back into a PDF and the lines and text need to hold up as someone zooms or prints.
