Normalize Audio brings a recording to a consistent loudness using a fixed broadcast-style profile. The only thing you choose is the output format.
Add the audio and listen for clipping, sudden peaks, and any quiet section that is meant to be quiet.

Run it, compare a quiet passage against a loud one, and check for artifacts before downloading.
It can bring a too-loud file down, but the flattened peaks are already gone. Repairing those takes specialist tools and rarely ends up perfect.
Loudness normalization moves the overall level. It is not compression, so the gap between quiet and loud stays.
